I grew up in a relatively old fashioned family. Everyone carried the same story. Life sounded a bit like this: Go to school, go to college, get a job, get a boyfriend, then start a life with them, get married, buy a house, have kids- or a few.
Now while all of these milestones make life exciting… SPOILER ALERT!
Life doesn’t begin when you get married.
From the moment I began dating, I pretty much always found myself in serious, long term relationships. I was never one to dream about my wedding, but I had daydreamed about what it would be like to be married with kids. After all, making a home together, cooking dinner, waking up with someone, family or romantic vacations… it all sounded pretty great. I always assumed I would be among the first few of my friends to tie the knot. Like most of my girlfriends, I believed I would be married with kids by 30.
You’re smart, you’re independent, you’re beautiful, sexy, AND single! You’re a total catch for any man you meet, yet amidst all your efforts to date and find love, instead you find yourself reeling in the agony of bad dates and even worse relationships.
Chances are, you and even some of your girlfriends know some really incredible women who are in this scenario right now. So how is it, that in all your bad-ass brilliance, you seem to have one of the worst dating lives?
Today’s dating age has left numerous women questioning this very same thing.
When women are asked about their significant other, 9 times out of 10 the answer will be, “Oh he’s really amazing, but there is this one thing…” And isn’t there always a thing or two that just gets under your skin a bit every time your significant other does it?
Granted, some things are negative traits and should be seen as red flags to be resolved before furthering the relationship. But there are lots of traits that we see as negative that are actually on the positive side.
