Jenna Barrington


Jenna is a writer, entrepreneur and the CEO of The Hired Pen. She has been working as a freelance writer and blog manager for many years. Jenna has a degree in Nutritional Health Counseling and extensive training as a copywriter and in search engine optimization. She has always had a passion for writing and loves to create space for people to express their passions, inner thoughts and voices through the written word. Kat Gál

Kat is a professional holistic health writer who helps health, wellness and nutrition businesses to market their products and services through quality online content. She has been writing online content since 2011. Her main expertise lies in holistic health, mental health, nutrition, wellness, and personal development, but she also enjoys writing about traveling, green living, relationships and education. Kat is a Certified Holistic Health and Life Coach and holds a MSc in Educational Sciences and Children’s Rights, BA in Psychology and Certificate in TESOL.  Kat is a multi-passionate writer, world traveler, nomad, runner, and cat-person. She has traveled to over 40 countries and lived in over 10 of them across 4 continents. Emilyn Gil

Emilyn is a student at Utah Valley University. She has won several awards for her writing, including the Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Key, and was featured in the Kolob Canyon Review in Cedar City. Aside from the written word, her other passions include learning new things, performing in musical theater, and playing piano, guitar, and ukulele. Some of her favorite pastimes are baking, napping, and hanging out with family. She has traveled to Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, and Canada, and currently resides in Lindon, Utah with her husband Jorge.


Sara Wylie


Sara has worked as a professional editor for an online health & wellness company since 2015. She also writes content for other online businesses ranging from holistic health to pet care to mindset guidance. Her main interests include manifesting and living your best life, caring for all living things, thriving in your passion zone, and inspiring others through the power of words. She has attended two separate college universities for English and music and is continuously working to further her education. Libby Houghton

Libby is a holistic health writer who has a passion for naturally healing the body. She uses her passion to help health, wellness, and nutrition businesses to sell their products and services through quality online content. Although she is new to the writing game, her fresh outtakes on holistic living, health, and wellness add a zesty flare to these topics. She enjoys helping people get interested and change their lives. Libby also enjoys writing about animals, gardening, traveling, and basically anything else that warrants a research project. She loves to learn fun new facts. She has started many different degrees in University such as: art, midwifery, and teaching. Amidst trying to find a way to cohesively combine them all, Libby decided to stop and raise her daughter. Libby is a nature-loving girl who spends her summers and free time visiting National Parks with her husband and baby. They love exploring the parks and stopping on their way out to collect kitschy Christmas tree ornaments. If she could travel anywhere in the world she would go the Patagonia’s in Argentina. Peter is a PhD candidate studying Public Administration and Affairs at Virginia Tech. He’s worked on Capitol Hill, and done consulting work for state, county, and city governments. He enjoys research, camping, board games, and binge watching TV shows with his wife. Danielle is an executive assistant by day, turned well-BEing life coach and free lance blogger by night. A true humanitarian, Danielle guides her clients to fulfilling their lives through their true authenticity. As a freelance blogger and writer, she has a passion for finding the right words to truly capture her surroundings and emotions. Danielle is a native New Yorker who has finally found her way to the ‘Best Coast’ where she is living and loving in San Diego. She runs on laughter, volunteering within her community, good tunes, and striking up random conversations with just about anyone.


Abbey Ryan-Elder

Abigail is an avid writer, determined traveler, incessant artists, and curious adventurer. She’ll try practically anything once, including eating shark, visiting foreign countries, jumping out of airplanes, hiking after midnight, and starting new bDSC_0525usinesses. Many of these she’ll do more than once, some she wouldn’t recommend doing at all, but that’s the fun of it, see? She completed her double major BA degree in two years, with a focus in Project Management and Human Resource Management with a Psychology minor. She graduated with honors from Liberty University in 2017. Currently she lives somewhere in America with her new husband, working somewhere for now, coming up with ideas for what to do later.

Gabrielle is a photographer, personal trainer and mom of a brand new baby girl and a rambunctious pitbull in the greater Washington, DC area. During college, she was the copy-editor of the school newspaper as well as for a local non-profit magazine. She graduated from Regent University with a degree in Communication and Criminal Psychology. With the stereotypical wanderlust personality, Gabrielle loves exploring new places, eating foods that no one else dares to, adding as many beaches as she can to her travel portfolio, and trying out new gyms. She is passionate about helping people live their healthiest, authentic lives while spotlighting their unique beauty at the same time. Biggest item on her bucket list: fill up as many passport books as possible. Brittany Long Olsen is a cartoonist and illustrator. In addition to helping teach students Japanese through comics, she makes daily cartoons at about her spunky dog Jetpack, doing yoga, being married to a huge nerd, and other slices of life. When she’s not drawing cartoons or working on her second graphic novel, Brittany likes making homemade ice cream, taking walks around her neighborhood, and blogging about weight-inclusive wellness and feminism. She is a proud introvert and aspiring bread baker.


Zoe Freeman

Zoe is a writer for The Hired Pen and has worked as a writer/editor for dōTERRA International’s internal knowledge base since 2017. She has a background in freelance work, providing content for companies ranging from health and wellness websites and online retail catalogues. She studied English Literature and Shakespeare at Southern Utah University, and runs a personal editing service for freelance and self-publishing authors. 


Brandon Prows

Brandon is a writer and musician. He writes for The Hired Pen. In his free time he enjoys writing reviews for films, TV shows and video games. He plays guitar in three separate bands and is currently working on a novel.
